Normally, I don't sign such petitions. But I feel strongly about this. One of the hardest things in life is to understand that there are people who know more than you do about any given topic. We have lawyers who are experts in the law. We have financial advisors who are experts in banking and finance. We have police officers who are experts in law enforcement. We have the military who are experts in defense. We have doctors who are experts in the field of medicine. And we have politicians who are experts in politicking.

Think about that last one: There are people who practice getting you to their side. Not necessarily the most or least informed side. Just their side. That's all they care about. That's what you see in these school board meetings where folks are disregarding the expertise of the medical community in favor of being on a political side of an issue so they can "win" or be "right" for a day. Would you go to a mechanic to fix your computer? Would you go to a doctor to build your deck? Would you go to a pet groomer to build your home? Then why in the world would you go to a politician for advice and leadership when the concern is you and your family's safety?

I am skeptical of any politician because they are not in the game for you. You are not their customer - their donors are. Just like the media. You are not their customer - the advertisers are. They do not have my best interests at heart. They purposely divide so you have to pick a side or a channel. But the medical field is a different story entirely. They are experts in staying alive and I sure as hell am going to listen to them.

I've vaccinated, but I still mask up when going out. It's inconvenient. It's not overly comfortable (especially having EI). But so what if it saves even one life. It's not a heavy lift to wear a mask. Just do it.
